Interplay of Daylight-Simulation and indirect Illumination by the objects in the room.
Turning on daylight took 45 seconds in this example, including the calculation of direct light. As this example uses default values, only 3 buttons had to be pushed. Visualization can be that easy! An appropriate illumination is important for the functionality of a room and likewise for the ambience it conveys. In the design process special care has to be taken in the choice and arrangement of the illuminants. The quality of a visualization program is usually judged by the realism of the lighting calculation as compared to the calculating time. As RadioLab is the implementation of most advanced calculating methods it allows for physically correct calculation of direct and even indirect light in very short time. Simple light sources (point, spot light sources) can be pre-calculated in real time for most of the projects. Complex light sources are turned on after only a few seconds. After this initial calculation step all further actions can be made in real time, e.g. dimming light sources or changing the color of the light. RadioLab offers a wide range of functions for simulating illuminants. Next to point and spot light sources you may define arbitrarily shaped faces or 3D objects as light sources. Furthermore you have the choice of several daylight models, which perform physically corrects calculations based ob the location (world coordinates) and time. Texture based LED light sources were developed especially for show and event planning. If needed Eulumdat or IES data can be imported, file formats the exactly describe the light distribution of illuminants. » next
Lighting PlanningRadioLab is also used by lighting planners because of its physically correct lighting calculation. In order to match the demands of this sector RadioLab can show the lighting distribution in false colors, as Isolux lines, planes of usage etc. The resulting lighting values can be output as a report with diagrams. Even in this field of application PYTHA proves to be an integrated universal solution: 3D modeling, lighting planning and photorealistic presentation – all within the same system.
